I'm considering purchasing a salvaged set of adaptive sport seats for my 997S to replace my standard seats. My current seats are powered and heated. The A.S.S are powered, but I can't tell if they are heated. Is there something I can look for on bottom of the seats that will confirm one way or other? The A.S.S. seem to have just the 2 connectors like my current heated seats. I have photos, so if someone know what to look for, let me know and I'll send them.

Ken:

If your replacement seats are heated, they will each have a seat heater relay attached and connected to the underside of the seats. That is, unless someone has removed the relays, but in that case you should still have the connectors for the relays there.

The relays are located near the outboard sides of the seat bottoms, about halfway between the front and the rear of the seat bottoms. The relays are black, about 2 inches tall by 1 inch by 1 inch and have the part # 996 618 521 00.

If you take photos of the underside of the seat bottoms, it should be plainly evident whether the relays are there or not (or the connectors if the relays have been removed).

Regards, Maurice.

Thanks Maurice. It is hard to see if they are there in the photos I took of the underside of the driver's seat. I looked under my current seats in my car (which are heated), and I couldn't see the relays there either! Perhaps I'm not looking in the right place. Actually, I seldom use heated seats, so it isn't a big deal. But if I could establish that they are not heated, I might be in a better position to get them at a discount. I appreciate you taking the time to provide this information. I have attached one of the photos I took of the seats I'm considering, in case you can see any tell-tale signs of heated seats.

Thanks again.

Ken:

I could not tell from that photo, although it is well focused and has good resolution. The main connector (yellow in the photo of your seat) is obvious from this angle. It might help if you have any photos taken of the actual underside of the seat bottom and identify which seat it is (driver's or passenger's) each time.

Here is a photo of the seat heater relay under my driver's seat where the relay is framed with a blue rectangle:

Here is a photo of another view of the seat heater relay, this time under my passenger's seat. The blue arrow points to the bracket. The yellow arrow points to the connector:

The photos might help you compare and locate yours.

Hi, I am new here - looking for the wiring connection to the memory CPU of a 997 seat. The picture Ken has posted shows this memory CPU (black box) right in the center. Does anyone have information about the electrical connections going into this box? I need to power the main plug on the front left side. 3 large pins, and a few small pins. Which is getting what signal ...?

Thanks for any help.

I hope someone has done this. I'm trying to put a set of adaptive sport seats in my Cayman S which came with heated standard seats.

I might start a new thread since I need to know what goes into the adaptive seats in the way of connectors and wiring. I would think it can be done but then again this is a Porsche specific part.

Thanks
