I got a set of heated seats from a 6speedonline member, and when re-installing them, i noticed that in addition to the main harness, there was a smaller connector with two pins on it, looked almost like a power connector or something. It was really short and didn't have enough room to make it upto the seat, also there was no place to connect it on the seat.

Does anyone know what it is there for? I didn't pull out the seat originally so i'm not sure what it could have been used for.

Did your car have heated seats before?

If not the wiring may not be in your harness.

or

it could be the lumbar support option.

Likely need the model and model year from the donor car and the wire colors of the two wires (to look it up).

car had factory heated seats before i took them out for sport seats.

donor car is a turbo i think. they should be the exact same seats as the ones i removes (sport, heated with crest).

i will take a pic of the connector and send you.

Are you sure that the seats are exactly the same, electric adjustable - electric adjustable with memory and/without lumbar or standard with electric adjustable back ?

yeah i'm positive. my car never had memory seats, always sport seats, which is what the new seats are too. i suppose the most obvious way for me to find out what that plug does is to reconnect my ehated seat buttons and just turn them on and see if the seats heat up.

Those are all the connectors and their wire colors on the left seat.

hmmm...the thing is tho..this plug was only on the right side (passenger side). the driver's side didn't ahve this on the harness.

If this two wire connector is only on the passenger's (right) side, is it possible you are referring to the connector for enabling/disabling the airbag for carrying a child seat in the passenger seat?

Do the wires and the plug look like those circled in red in this photo?:
