Hi All,

I just picked up a lovely Cayenne from US and imported into Canada. For some reason Porsche seems to

not follow the standard of providing Speedos with both mph and kph (generally kph in smaller font size).

I will have to have this changed to kph to pass inspections in Canada and wonder if there is a source that

provides these kph dial faces?

She's an 04 S and I appreciate any input:)

Thanks,

Robert

Hello Robert.

I've also imported a Porsche Boxster from the US, and I also got a cluster in MPH, but to pass the RIV inspection,

you only need to switch the Digital display from MPH to KMH, It make no difference from them if your analog

display is still show MPH but you need to have the odometer in KMH and the digital speedometer display in KMH.

For the Boxster we switch from MPH to KMH by turning and holding the clock knob, I don't know about the Cayenne

but it should be similar. Look in your Porsche manuals.

Best regards

The Cayenne is a 2004...what year is the Boxter? I'll check the manual and see if this is possible as it'll be the best news if so:)

Thanks for the reply!

Hey Bro,

I also have a 04 CS and you can do it on the digital input. Just look in your manual and it tells you how to do it (sorry it is slipping my mind)

Cheers,

I've just tracked down the info in the manual, and it appears to be a simple task of toggling within the units/speedo

on the digital menu and selecting kph.

I will put this to practice soon and let you helpful lads know how it went.

Thanks much:)

BTW Parajed...did you manage to switch the daytime running lights on yourself as well? The manual doesn't seem

to touch on this, only seems to explain the 'auto' light functions.

Maybe when I get into the menus it'll make sence:)

The speedo is simple...you toogle through the menus on the little lever below the signal light, it's all in the manual. As for daytime running lights (DRL) you will need to either make a jumper cable for your fuse box which turns the full headlights on full time, or go to a dealer and maybe have them activate your lights. All jokes aside, Canadian Tire does a pretty decent job of the lights as well. They are also an authorized RIV inspection location who can officially pass your vehicle and declare it "Canadian". DRL's shouldn't cost you more than $150 or you're getting ripped off.

It's just a clock face change and Ruf can do this for you as they offer both MPH or KM inlays. Not sure how hard it is to perform but my Ruf modified Cayenne started as MPH and was changed to KM by Ruf.
