Hi guys!

I started to loose the adjustment nuts on the turnbuckle (under the rear console/arm rest) but the 2 nuts (bronze) are stuck together. I can't loose the nuts from the screw part. The space is limited and I don't have a lot of room for extra torque.

Is there anything I can do to try to loose them? Spray them with WD40? heat them? HELP!!!!!

Thanks!

Take a flat 13mm key for the adjusting nut, a ring 13mm key for the locking nut.

Install both keys in this way that you can grab both keys with your right hand easley.

Grab with your left hand your right hand ( as you will cracked a nut ) and pinch both keys together in the right direction - to loose.

Attention this is not the park brake adjuster but the park brake CABLE adjuster.

Park brake adjustment is located in the rear brake rotors.

Hope it helps

I'm not sure I understand RFM's response but the nuts are stuck because they are screwed together. You can use two wrenches to separate the nuts then they will both move freely.

The second nut is acting as a jam nut. I replaced the hand brake lever on a local car a few years and the jam nut was tight. I assume the console is in place and you are trying to work through the storage box. When I did it the console was out because we were also doing a B&M install. If you give up you might remove the console as you will have a lot more room.

I would definitely remove the console if its proving to be difficult for two reasons. 1) you may slip and mark it and 2) better access/more torque applied. It is relatively easy if you follow the B&M removal instructions and other instructions i found on this magnificant site! I was replacing handbrake and gear lever at that time.............

Make sure you are turning the nuts in the correct directions. Otherwise you will have to redouble your efforts. :)
