I paid $270 for the 20k service which includes oil change and thorough inspection.

I paid $170 here in Florida; it's actually not a real complicated oil change. Just expensive oil, and lots of it.

edit- mine was the 40k oil change on a turbo. The entire service was nearly $600.

i have a 2006 v6, dealer quoted $275. instead, i bought the mahle oil filter from the internet for $10.00 and took it to the local mobil station for the oil change for $78.00( v6 only takes 7 cans of mobil 1). oil change is oil change, dont believe the dealer's bs on 25 or 50 points checkup!! i do the samething on my 2003 boxster($90.00- 9 cans of oil). save your money, you will needed for the major services..... :D

major services should be done by porsche dealer, boxster: every 15k, cayenne: every 20k. i do oil changes between each major services, i never saw the service light. but there are many posts for resetting the service light.

I disagree - if you can do an oil change then you can do both minor and major service too.

i agree the services can be done on ones own....but should a problem arise...cant the dealer blame it on not servicing it at porsche and void warranty?

Not unless something silly is done like forgetting to put oil back in.

The Cayenne S / Turbo / Turbo S have '2' drain plugs.

One for the oil pan...

And another to drain the turbos

Can anyone else confirm? The service tech showed me 2 drain plugs about 3 inches or so apart from each other. Are they for what I described above?
