996 Hardtop Disassembly

I just purchased a hardtop for my 996. It had apparently sat in storage for a while and a few dead bugs and other debris collected between the glass and the parcel shelf. The space is too narrow for my fingers. I have cleaned the majority of the debris with a microfiber towel folded over a spatula. However for a more thorough cleaning I would like to remove the parcel shelf. How do I remove the shelf? I have released the pins on the plastic trim and the parcel shelf but it still is attached in some less obvious way. Thanks!

I have a 2008 Cab with a hardtop and have all the rattles others have described. I have lubed with limited results. Now I need to remove the trim to fix the broken or rubbing clips. Noted a 14 page manual to do this work. Please email it to me before I go nuts. Porsche needs to get rid of all those plastic fittings and clips and return to making a car again.

Does anyone know where I can purchase replacement plastic clips for my hardtop? Right now the interior panels are removed because half the clips are broken.

If you are talking about items 22 and 23 they are about $1.00 each from your local dealer. You would need 8 of each.

Did any body successfully disassemble a hard top for painting?  I’m looking at painting sides and black vinyl in the middle, the newer cars are all coming black topped now.
