2000 996 tip with 130k miles daily driver.

new water pump and thermostat.

Mine does the same in traffic, but normal when cruising. 2000 Boxster.

Mine does the same, sometimes it does better when weather is colder and im not getting stopped or held up in traffic too often. Its normal, the Highest mine has been is the needle NEARLY passing the "0" on the "180" print.

Mine typically rides in the normal zone you show but has gotten higher in stop and go, pretty close to where you show (that is whether it is 50F or 100F in Fort Worth Texas). Highest it has gotten is over 200 mark when driving on a track and reving the engine to redline.

Turn on your AC and see what happens.

Not to hijack this post, but I would be more concerned with you low oil pressure!

Hi Fredkhaz, it might be a good time to remove the front bumper and do a very thorough radiator cleaning. I think you have three (3). 2 for coolant and one for the tip tranny. This may help a little. You can search and find the DIY instructions.
