I have it in mind to relocate the switches for the rear wiper and demist from the dashboard centre console to the blanks between the seats (996 coupé) and believe there must be something on RennTech about it, but no way can I find anything. I guess I must be asking the wrong questions in the Search function. So, to get me out of this jam, can anybody direct me to the post which discusses it or, if nothing has been posted yet, explain to me what I need to do?

As long as the wires are long enough it should be pretty easy.

That's positive; thanks. I had an idea that Tool Pants had posted something about this, but perhaps I'm wrong (can't find anything). I need to know where to start in order to go about removing the relevant bits of fascia.

I seem to recall Tool Pants posting some photos and part numbers for the rocker switch socket connectors, which would be useful for making up an extension lead to the existing wiring. I can't find them though :(

I don't think the wires are long enought to relocate switches that far away, unless you extend the wires. Why do you want to do this?

Here is a switch connector. Porsche sells the connectors and pins. I bought the one in the picture as a VW part because it was cheaper. That was a tip I got from Sandy.

Thanks for that tip TP. I want to move the switches because they're not easily accessible. It would be a whole lot better if the switches were located where the cab blanks are in the console between the seats. I imagine it's only a matter of extending the wires and I can't believe routing them will be too difficult a job. I thought it was an obvious refinement and figured somebody on RennTech must have done it at some time.
