Defective LCD climate display control

Good morning to every Porsche's passionate

My LCD display is defective on my 2000 Boxster (2 circular zones)...but the control is working!

I bought one complete climate display control on Ebay...but I found out after some testing it was made for a 2003-2004 Boxster!! (not as advertised 1997 -2004 Boxster)!

When I installed it, the lcd display was fine but no control at all (fan ,heating...)!

I am thinking of swapping the whole front display (with the buttons),taking off the flat 16 pins cables......is someone already tried this?
