Plastic rear window

My 2001 986's plastic rear window is beggining to break (like tearing apart in maybe three stitches one side where it is sewed to the fabric top)

So... alternatives,

- can it be fixed by replacing only the plastic?

- do I have to buy a complete top? (either plastic or glass)

I live in Florida......... any idea on prices? (Parts and hand-work)

Sure, you can have a new window put in, about $200 (I think). Figure you’ll go through 2 windows, 3-4 years each, then you’ll be ready for a new top. If the vinyl windows still in good shape, you might be able to just have it re-stitched
