Hello everyone - just closed on a 2006 987S last week and happy to finally join the Boxster family!

Does anyone have recommendations or favorite dealer to take it to for the 20k service? I figure I stick to the dealers as it's still under warranty. I live in SF and work in Mountain View, so I believe my best options are:

1) Rector in Burlingame, or 2) Carlson in Redwood City.

Any pros/cons on these dealers that anyone would like to share?

Thanks!

Rector - why?

Peter Smith -- shop foreman, 20 plus years as a Porsche tech, PCA Technical Committee, races a 944 in his spare time.

A good guy all around (but don't tell him I said so).

I have had very good experiences with Carlson. Stay away from Stevens Creek; they are dangerously incompetent. No experience with Rector

Stevens Creek worked on my top a total of 5 times over the past few years, and now it's broken again. Took it to Walnut Creek, and they found parts not conencted, just in general, a freaking mess. Now I'm stuck with a $3,800 repair bill to fix everything correctly. I can't prove they did poor repair work, and it's out of warranty. I'll pay to have it fixed correctly and move on. I'll be staying away from Stevens Creek.
