Oil Leak GT3

GatorGT3

Recommended Posts

Owner of 2004 GT3 with 10k miles. Perfect condition without any mechanical issues. Just completed 2 yr/15k service without issues. The other morning took it up to our local donut shop and returned (approx. 5 miles). Next morning noticed a fair amount of oil under the rear of the engine on the carport floor. Obviously I am concerned as this is the first oil ever on the floor. Any thoughts?

Gator, did they do an oil change at the 15K service? Maybe they did not torque the oil drain plug properly or get the oil filter seal seated right. You need to get under the car and see where the oil is coming from.

Maybe you drove over one of the greasy donuts! :P

Yeah, probably the donut. Really weird that it would just start leaking two months after the service (including oil change). Anyway, will try to locate source of leak and post my findings later.

Looked more closely at the source of the oil and it appears to be coming from the back of the motor (near the exhaust). Is there a seal in that location for an oil return or supply line? Has anyone else heard of similar issues? Thanks.
