Removing Maf Sensor Plug

So I got stuck on step 3 of the DIY for changing the air filter.

"3.Pull connecting plug off the mass air flow sensor by squeezing the connector clips."

Couldn't get it to release and felt as though I might have broken a tab or two. Not sure. Anyway, I was able to change the air filter out without this step (pull out old one, insert new one).

But....now that I think about it, I really want to clear the housing inside and out (as per instructions) and feel that I just half-a**ed this project. :oops:

Any help or tips or getting the MAF sensor unplugged? Pics?

Thanks TP for the pics. So the clips I am "pressing" are on the long sides of the plug not the short sides? Am I pressing them into the plug?
