Carrera 4 1999

I have a small coolant leak thats in the back on the drivers side. It drops between my alum exhaus tip and my exhaust. Does anybody have an idea where the problem might be?

Thank you beforehand

it is likely either a leaking coolant tank cap (check the part number - if it ends in 00 then it needs to be replaced)

or

a cracked coolant tank.

There is a DIY in the 996 DIY - Common Fixes section if it turns out to be the tank.

Thanks a lot. I will try to fix it today.

I will be replacing the water pump next week as a result of a leak and seal/bearing failure. Started as a small leak with a whirring sound (as the bearings start to fail). Continued to be a complete failure with massive coolant loss.
