I am installing a front license plate bracket on a 2004 Porsche Cayenne S. It is the Porsche OEM bracket. Should I pre-drill the holes or just drive the screws through the bumper?

Thanks,

Aaron

As I recall the screws in the kit are self tapping - so little or no need to pre-drill.

Just mark the spots and drive them through (or if you must pre-drill then use a very small drill bit).

Finally had the time to install the bracket. Yes, they were self tapping. Just used a screw drill slowly on the torque setting until the screws took hold. Hand tightened the rest of the way.

Thanks,

Aaron

anybody have a picture of where to screw into the bumper. 06 TS. I have the bracket and 4 screws but really, really hesitant to do it wrong and screw it up.

wow, that would've been helpful... i just installed the bracket on my 05 ctt, but i pre-drilled the holes for the bracket, wish i hadn't done it because i drilled a hole in the wrong place  ... well, in the end it worked out..

also, i installed the bracket upsidedown (on purpose, got that idea somewhere though...), it looks better, doesn't cover up the grille, and it's still pretty strong...

Any chance you could send me some close up photos of where/how you screwed it in? I do like that below the grill approach!! Still can't believe i'm going to screw holes into my TS ... been avoiding this since i bought the car in January. I'm tired of expecting to be waved over whenever I go through a nyc tollbooth so need to just bite the bullet. Next I'll work on my ezpass which works everywhere but getting in and out of NYC.

Hello I am trying to find a front license plate mount like the one in this picture so the plate will not cover much of the grill on my 2008 Turbo Cayenne, any help would be appreciated
