Hi

I just got my car back from having some minor accident repairs & now when I lock the car the horn sounds briefly. I know that you press the key fob button twice quickly when locking to turn off the ultrasonics (I think) & you get this sound then, but you shouldn't get that sound when pressing once ? All doors, bonnet etc are closed.

Any ideas ? It didn't do this before.

Before you pannic, check that the glovebox(if you have one) and the center console are snapped closed completely. Then check the light in the front boot. If when you open the car it is not on, then maybe there is a short or bad switch and they just took the bulb out or cut the wire instead of fixing it. It may be no big deal. The beep when you lock the doors is telling you something is open.

Thanks Corey - you are spot on. Despite me thinking all doors etc were shut I find that the engine cover is in fact not shut down properly (though it does look like it is) Problem solved - cheers

Gladd to hear it was something stupid and not a short or bad switch.

Cheers,

Corey
