my 996 carrera's volts go up and down

hi guys any help here would be good, my 996 carreras volts go up and down its normally at arouind 13 volts but when i come to a stop at the lights its drops to aeound 12 then when i take off again they go up again, at nights when i have my lights on it goes down even more, i took the car to the porsche dealership and i had my alternator fixed, now am i just being paranoid, any help would be greatly appiciated thanks

Is your battery in good condition?A bad battery can expire odd things.

im not sure, how would i check if its good or bad, do you think i should just get a new battery

Have you battery tested. If your battery is over 4 years old then it is due to be replaced anyway.

Let the battery check in the dealership, i wonder why they give you the car back with the same problem.

yeah im wondering why aswell i get better advice when i come onto here than at the dealership, ill have the battery tested on the weekend thanks guys il let u guys know what they say

The dealer isn't stupid, replace the alternator first, then the battery, more revenue, LOTS MORE REVENUE...!!
