You can replace the airbag if you are very careful - be sure to disconnect the battery and leave the car sit for a while.

A compete dash replacement is a very big job too.

Thanks everbody but the drawing helped to remove some pieces but still dont know how to remove the dash itself

I also spoke to someone at the porsche centre.

He saided if the airbags came out you'll have to replace the entire dash

since there is an steel or aluminium plate underneath which bended under the airbag detonation

here's a pic of the problem

Odd that the service center would say that...

The service manual simply says you have to remove the glove box and bend the metal tabs back to get the old airbag out.

Installation just says to bend the metal tabs back when installing the new airbag.

Correct Loren, but when the airbag come out the top of the dash is deformed and cracked. Same problem on Cayenne.

Indeed, the problem is that the flap ( on the pic. ) is a part of the dash and is reinforced with a metal plate. It is not possible to fix that on a substantial way.

Hi Loren

Could you send me a copy of the service manual? that would be great.

I'm willing to try that first instead of completly replacing the dash.

Went to porsche today and asked if they could help me and the printed me the entire service manual about how to remove the dash.

So that was absolutely great. If anyone is interested about how it is to be done send me a PM.

here's the pic when everything was removed after three hours of hard work.

The light switch is covered here if you do a search.
