First off, just wanted to say Hi! to all the members. I found out about this forum just a couple of days through a mechanic "friend' that tried to rip me off on air mass meter replacement. Anyways, I changed the micro switch because my widows wouldn't go all the way up...however with the new switch I am getting the same problem when I hit a pot hole or driving on a bumpy road. Any insights or suggestions? Thanks in advacne

What may be happening is that the latch hook is not making a firm, fixed contact with its receptacle, and thereby not keeping the microswitch depressed when you hit a bump and it shifts slightly.

Assuming your top is properly aligned left to right, and that the latch is going into the middle of the receptacle (i.e., not off to one side), try taking a short, small piece of dense foam rubber and glue it onto the end of the latch hook where it contacts the microswitch. A small piece only about 1 inch long by 1/2 inch wide, by 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick should probably do it.

Let us know if you have any success.

Regards, Maurice.
