MY2002 Cab4 Parking Assistant/Sensors

Recommended Posts

:help:

Professor Loren,

The battery on my MY2002 Tip Cab4 died and got replaced recently. Everything appears to be normal except the Parking Assistant/Sensors.

I noticed the problem when I was resetting the Seat Memory and the auto-swiveling-down function of the passenger-side mirror when backing up.

I did engage my Tiptronic selector level on P when storing the seat position (per factory manual). It used to work but not this time.

I also noticed I have lost the confirming short signal tune of the Parking Assistant/Sensors when I engaged my Tiptronic selector level on P.

What might have caused this and what should I do?

Thanks!

Professor Loren,

I have checked the fuse. Nothing wrong.

In addition, I have noticed my Xeon headlights (low beam) now need some time to "warm up". They don't come up until a couple of minutes after switched on.

I wonder if there are any relays controling the headlights and parking sensors going bad.

Thanks again for sharing with your expertise!

Professor Loren,

The battery is fully charged and the voltmeter shows 14 when the engine is running.

Do you think the light switch is going bad?

Any way to "reset" the parking assistant/sensors?

BTW, the reverse light is out as well.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so the reverse lights don't work... that means that the ParkAssist is never getting the reverse signal - that makes sense.

You need to check the switches for the Tiptronic. Does the cluster light come on in reverse ®?

Yes, the R does lit up.

Thanks!
