I recently acquired a used wall mounted hard top stand part # 000 044 000 39.

The previous owner has at some point dismantled it, lost some of the fixings and put it back together completely incorrectly - like a challenging puzzle for the future owner

I'd appreciate any photos of how it should fit together and line up or even better a copy of the instructions!

Thanks in advance if you can help.

WeekendWonder,

You might be able to contact the guy in this thread from 6speedonline.com. He had the same question a while back. Click here to read the thread.

Good luck,

I don't know about the 996 top rack, but the 986 instructions were not all that great.

Visualize the narrower piece with the slots for the front of the top's locking devices. This piece will be at the bottom when assembled.

The wider bar has holes for the back of the top where the spin locks secure it behind each seat. This will be the top of the assembled rack.

The other bar connects the two bars at a 90 degree angle to the middle of each.

So when the two wall mounts that look like hose clamps are screwed into a wall stud (very important) the rack will look like a giant T with a _ under it. The top will hag with the rear window pointed at the ceiling.

Hope the 996 rack is similar or I've wasted your time. Good luck. :)

Orient Express has come to the rescue. The specs and everything you need can be found in a Technical Bulletin (0913), entilted, "Assembly and Use of the Hardtop/Wheel Storage System.

Thanks Orient Expess!
