So fired up... just finished the drive home from Seattle. The car needs a few things - new tires and brake pads, and an alignment.

We also picked up a hardtop on the way back from a different seller. Funny thing is when we got there to bolt up the top, they were two different whites. The top is the more pure white while the car is the more antique white. So, guess I'll have to get the top painted eventually. Honestly didn't event think to confirm they were the same white. Doh.

Anyway, just wanted to share my happiness, and to say thanks for the awesome writeup on the hardtop spinlocks in the DIY section. Using that article it took me all of 20 minutes to get them in and get the top on. No issues at all. In fact the top sealed nicely with no rattles or squeaks on the way back at all, including a couple shots above 80 on the highway.

Monday she's going in for a couple basic things, but other than that, fired up to have a third Porsche in the driveway. Will post a couple pics once I get things cleaned up tomorrow. Next up I will use the ignition switch DIY to fix that thing. Was driving home and the headlights would not turn on correctly. Pulled over and restarted the car and jimmied the key and everything was fine.

Wow........Deja vue all over again.

My brother ordered a new white Boxter in '99 (still has it......less than 5,000 miles on it).

He ordered his with the factory hardtop which has only been on the car once.

I have an '01 S in white (now with 11,000 miles on it).

His car is a brilliant bright white; an "appliance white".

When someone asks me what color mine is, I tell them it's a "cue-ball" white, which is the

best way I can think of to describe it.

Quite a bit of difference.
