I am looking at a 99 c4 for sale, but wondering how to tell the difference? Besides the badging, is there any noticable differences? Vin? ect. How can you tell besides the wider rear fenders ( which is hard in pics)?

You can use the VIN decoder (scouser's in Renntech) to decode the VIN. I think the 13th digit indicates the type.

The front boot on the C4 is much smaller (especially in depth) , the spare tyre is not inflated and is located at the bottom of the boot.

You can find many pictures of the front boot of both the C2 & C4 so that you can understand what i am saying.

Nikos.

If the fuel filter is mounted under the expansion tank, you got a C4 MY 99.

The C4 has silver calipers & C2 has black, that's stock but can be changed afterward. The trunk of the C4 is much smaller. If you have the CD changer, the C4 is mounted horizotal and C2 mounts vertical. For the rear fenders, I think they are the same.
