I am looking only to improve on the sound of my 2001 911.

If I install a fabspeed cold ait intake (or schnell) will it do the same, or say close, as having performance mufflers installed. I have heard that fabspeed cold air intake sounds like having the PSE option. If this is so, for $200 I can get the extra sound I need and keep my factory mufflers. Any thoughts/experience?

Thanks

Ls911,

I have the Fabspeed Cold air intake and the Fabspeed mufflers. I love the sound. If you can afford it I would go for the mufflers. Everyone has a different opinion on their favorite muffler sound and manufacturer. I love mine. It sounds like a jet.

I don't know what the cold air intake alone will do. Fabspeed has a sound clip of the intake on their website. Might want to check that out.

Hope this helps

You may want to do a search by "muffler" or "air intake", as there are a ton of posts in here with different combinations and opinions.

I have the K&N kit with stock mufflers on my 2002C2. It sreams above 4k & beyond. Much louder than with the stock air box. this tells me the motor is getting more air, which neccisarily means more HP, but for 250 bucks, the sound alone is worth it. MY 2cents.
