Hey Everyone,

I need some help here. I have a 1999 Porsche 911 (996) and am looking for spark plugs. I know Bosch and Beru make the Porsche OEM plugs.

Beru (Ultra):

6 ea 999 170 207 91 Spark Plugs (Beru 14FGR 6KQU) MY99-MY01

or

6 ea 999 170 223 90 Spark Plugs (Beru FGR 5KQE0) MY02-

Bosch:

7413 - FGR 6 KQC MY99-MY01 (Bosch Super)

However, for some reason, these OEM plugs are single electrode non-platinum plugs... why?

I would think Bosch Platinum +4 or the IR Fusions would be better (Ultra-X Platinum for Beru).

I can not for the life of me find a part number or anyone that can help. Is there a reason for this? can anyone offer some insight?

Platinum plugs are all hype when in fact a copper plug is a better and safer plug, especially in high compression engines. The only benefit to platinum is they last longer, but you also pay considerably more for them. Go with the 2 electrode NKG's.
