If you had a Cayman S or a Boxster S and you were going to do some mods...would you go with Ruf or Farnbacher Loles? If you selected Ruf would you go with the engine swap or Kompressor conversion? thank you in advance for your views...

I vote RUF and I would do the 3.6 swap. Costs big-big bucks. I hope to do it one day, after my warranty is done. Wayne there at RUF is a great guy. Very helpful.

Hi,

I followed a Caymen S that was Ruf modified and

it was extremly fast. The Farnbacher Loles 997 did come

in first in the Grand Am in Salt Lake City. I would pick

Ruf if I wanted a good re-sale. Ruf to me is like AMG.

RUF are very well known. I'm not aware they offer the supercharger conversion on anything other than their new supply cars. TBH never heard of Fanbacher Loles, are they a domestic USA tuner ? RUF have type approval for their mods since they are in Germany , so all their mods must meet stringent safety and emission controls. They also are more likely to be assisted by Porsche in their development programmes. Engine swap for 350 hp sounds a lot of work but would be the most robust solution. Supercharger could give more power and be easier and quicker to install, but you are stressing the basic engine to a new level.
