Hi,

My wife just mentioned that opening the rear lid of our turbo '03 goes quite 'heavy'. Looks like the gas spring lack some power. I am thinking of looking into this, but could somebody tell me how to find them (looked into it, but I am affraid to ruin something.

Thanks,

Frank

You have to open the roof trim, the last part of the trim, than you can see 2 gas springs on the left and 2 on the right ( 1 big and 1 small ). The small ones are for the glass and the big ones for the door, change them all 4. The door must stay in the open possition to remove the springs, but take note that the door is very heavy don't forget to support the door it can cost your fingers!!!!!!!

Thanks for the quick reply,

Could you perhaps describe how 'heavy'opening the lid is? does it go light (two fingers), or do you need to use 'two hands'?

It is a one hand exercise, the door have to stay fully open without coming back a bit.
