Finally installed a Hollywood Sound Labs Amp and MB Quart speakers. Had to modify the OEM speakers to use them as mount for the new ones.

The pics are self explanatory.

What a difference!

Looks good....Congrats

Did you replace any of the wiring in order to hook up the new amp or was it a plug and play install?

Do you have the original HU? Is it a CDR 220?

I also replaced my dash speakers and am planning to replace the AMP soon....I have a CDR 220 and was wondering whether I can just re-route the connections to the current HAES amp to the new AMP of my choice.

Thanks,

Gustavo

I used the same wiring that comes with the car, discarted the HAES amp and connector (cut the wires). Did have to extend/splice the wires, the one that were comming out from the amp connector, to reach where the amp is now though. Used the factory wires for the speakers (extended/spliced) as well. Only added the tweeter wiring. Used the pinout diagram in order to kanow what wire belonged to what speaker. Think I sent you the wiring diagram for the amp pinout. I have an after market HU, Pioneer, a self powered Bazooka subwoofer enclosure. Disconnected the door speakers. Now I have the front (dash), rear and the subwoofer, only have a 4 channel amp. What a difference.

Where did you install crossover?

Here's another example of MB Quart with crossovers in trunk with alpine amp makes for a great fit.

I worked out my 996 carrera dash&door&rear speakers upgrads.

I got Focal 100V Slim 10cm 2-Way for dash&rear and 13ks for door.

100V has crossover. It's small so that we can put small room of 996 dash and rear !

Things To change dash and rear, you need only make small parts to lock the speakers and cut spkeaker some part.

Please refer to attached pictures.
