Hi, Anyone tried removing (taking off) their convertible top on a 996? The reason I ask is that the window has started to separate from the top. I want to take it off, glue or stitch it back up. Anyone tried this?

I got different quotes from upholstery shops here in orlando and its ranging from 375 to 1000 dollars. does anyone know of a good Upholstery shop in the central FL area?

Thanks to all

On the Boxster, it is not strictly necessary to remove the top to stitch in a new window. I doubt it is different for a 996.

Hi

I have a 99 996 Cab and i got sick of the plastic window getting unglued, etc....

I just bit the bullet and had the whole top replaced and got the back window upgraded to GLASS!! Works great, looks awesome and is cooler since i could get it tinted.
