After a few years of Boxstir 1997 ownership no one had a picture of the Boxster Chop for the rear plastic window. I though I should take a few pictures as it will be a lost art with the 2003 glass window. Jeff

I am a kungfu master of the boxster chop myself! I religiously hand fold the window, and my '01 looks like brand new.

I have a thought of placing a stiff piece of metal along the top inside of the plastic window. I have made a short study (what else can I do besides watch the top opening/closing process and hear the nice vroom of these cars) and ~95% of the times the window folds incorrectly right in the middle. If I were to make sure I can keep the top area firm I think I can get away from the CHOP activity. Has anyone tried this before?

Another finding in my analysis is that if it is a warm day. The plastic window has more chances of folding correctly... But to keep the window warm is much more difficult then to find a metal piece I shall try my idea and report.

I have tried all sorts of things (cables, wires, etc). And no luck. There is the double chop (97's) needed and difficult to bypass. I have decided to buy an axe like the one TP shows...
