Fault Codes, I got a CEL

Recommended Posts

I got a CEL and when I hooked up the Durametric It gave the following fault codes; P1126 FC 35, P0445 FC 94, aqnd P1124 FC 27. The P0445 lists as a major leak in the tank vent system. Was this a matter of a gas cap not properly closed? If not, any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help. Ed 98 Boxster Tip 53K

P1124 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 1 (Cylinders 1 - 3) - Rich Threshold

P1126 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 1 (Cylinders 4 - 6) - Rich Threshold

This means that the DME is seeing too lean a fuel condition and that it can not make the mixture rich enough to compensate for it.

P0445 EVAP Canister Purge Valve - Short to B+/Short to Ground

These can be caused by an air leak (or an MAF that is giving false readings to the DME).

If you only had the P1124 and P1126 I would say clean and/or replace your MAF - but since you also have a P0455 I would look for other intake air leaks in your engine compartment.

I had the same fault code and it ended up being a faulty maf sensor. I had this replaced and the car is running great.

Hello Loren and all of you out there.

I have a CEL and codes are: P0441,P1124,P1124

986 MY97 126k MAF replaced about 1.5 years ago.

Any idea what P0441 is and is that related to the other 2 codes P1124/26?

Thanks!

P0441 93 Fuel Tank Ventilation System - Above Limit

Potential causes:

- EVAP canister purge valve open

- Pressure sensor faulty

The other codes are already explained above.

Thanks Loren!.

Where is the EVAP canister valve located? and the Pressure sensor? Do you have a PN for those?
