Can a Carrera S made for the USA - with the PASM system - be fitted with the mechanical locking differential that is available for the European version with its "sport suspension" option. I know that the dampers and springs etc. that come as part of the "sports suspension" for Euro cars cannot be fitted on a car with PASM (that's true even in Europe) but I was wondering about just the limited slip differential. Would there be any issues with the PSM (Stability Management)? Would PSM and PASM need to be re-programmed? I would like to fit only the limited slip differential on my 2006 Carrera S but not the rest of the sports suspension package. Any clarification on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

The LSD transmission is listed in the US parts list also - so a dealer should be able to tell you if it will work with your car.

I would expect that the PASM and ABS controllers need to told (programmed) for the change.

Quaife also makes a LSD for the 997 now, here is the info...http://www.autotech.com/quaife/index2.htm

There is a application for the 05-08 997. Vivid sells them as well..
