Hi Guys, well my 996 has been making loud whining noise lately from the front wheel. So after reading this forum and others I have traced it down to a faulty fuel pump.

I pulled the battery out on the weekend, and unscrewed the cover for the fuel pump..but now im stuck ?

Where is the actual fuel pump ? Is it bolted onto the bottom of the tank, or is it connected to the sender unit ?

Could someone please post a DIY if its been done , or show me some pics.

I searched this site for fuel pump replacement links but couldnt find one.

Thx Heaps.

Hi

It's very simple, the pump and sender are one unit. The pump is interchangeable.

From the point where you are: disconnect the electric and the two fuel line connectors - turn loose ( to the left ) the big black ring and remove him - pull out carefully the pump-sender unit and replace the pump. Change the seal, install. in reverse order.

Success.
