Our 996 Cab is in the dealer to have the reverse light switch changed under warranty. Just after leaving the car they call me to 'try it on'.

"Your car is due a service and an alignment." I explain the service was carried out but they keep going on about the wheel alignment that is due.

I have checked on here and my maintenance book but cannot find this listed.

Is the garage trying it on ?????

Maybe, or maybe they noticed uneven wear on the tires and are trying to save you from early tire life. I don't think they go by time or mileage, but it is a good thing to do if your car does not track straight or the the uneven wear I mentioned.

Then again, they may need more $$ for the month closure...... Should run about $100 at the dealer.

No they hadn't even moved the car into the shop when they mentioned the alignment and the price..... closer to $500

Ditto. Ask them to show you where in the factory recommended services it states alignment due dates or mileage. Better yet, go elsewhere, sounds like they are looking for $$ and not customers.

They didn't get my money.....They have a brochure with a lots of extra services.... and if you were unaware of what is required and what is optional you would be handing over the shirt off your back. I would love to name and shame them!!!
