Hi all,

I saw in a RUF package that they offer the look of an MY02 996 (updated bi-xenon) for the boxster. I couldn't find much info on this from them. It got me thinking however. How hard would it be to convert a boxster over to a 996 front end? I would image that you can get the new headlights, and then a turbo front bumper for a 996, and it should all fit together. Considering they're pretty much the same car until this departure, is there anything under the skin that would have to be addressed?

I have read about this and have seen a finished one at my local autocross events. They look very nice! The reading I did was about one set for sale on eBay...don't know if it is still there. Apparently the difficulty lies with altering the mounting brackets for the "updated/pointy headlights". They don't fit quite right with the traditional headlight brackets. The Ruf/Roock conversions are COSTLY. The eBay set...including the side fenders, front bumper cover, and the set of headlights with clear corners ran $5,000. Then you have to paint and install. Hope that helps. Here is the link...I just found this on eBay...you can call them for instructions I'm sure.
