I had the PSE installed on my MY 2001 Carrera 4 a couple of weeks ago and all has seemed fine.

Whilst driving the car today the check engine light came on when I was sitting in some traffic, and has stayed on permanently.

I looked in the manual and this is the emission light, so could this be related to the PSE installation or do I have a bigger fault to look forward too?

Advice greatly received as I am concerned about my bank balance!

Cheers

Unless you damaged one of the oxygen sensors (not likely) then I doubt this is related.

Have you had the gas cap or oil cap off recently? ...these are the two most common causes of a CEL.

I cant´t see what this should have to do with the PSE. But take it to the dealer and let them have a quick look at it. Hopefully it just needs to be reset.

Mine just passed emissions testing and got the CEL again 4 miles later. I think the the whole system is flakey and ridiculous. Disconnect the negative terminal to the battery. If you have a persistent problem, the CEL will come back on in a few days.
