-windows wont open or close using center console switches

-sunroof wont open

-when i open/close the door it still does the slight open/close thing for the window

-i can use my key to lower the windows by turning and holding it left to open and right to close (or is it the other way around)

-i checked the fuse and switched both D1 and D4 with the 30 fuse.. looks ok with different combinations

Any ideas?

D1 is the power windows fuse.

D3 (not D4) is the sunroof fuse.

B6 is also for the power windows (should be 15A)

gotcha...

yeah I saw a thread about how D4 which said something about cabriolet power top was actually for the window which was D1.

Anyway I did check D1 and replaced it and it was fine...

If the fuse there was blown, would it not let the window quick up/down on door open/close? Coz that works... and I can lower the window with the key.

So do you think it's just the a problem isolated on the middle switches?

Doesn't make sense to me that both switches would be bad.

I wonder if one (or more) of the power wires came off? Any work done lately like a radar detector or ipod or?

I would see if the switches are getting power (see the lines marked Fuse xx).

I got it back from Porsche dealership where they fixed and replaced my ignition switch.. it was stuck in "ignition key not removed" state even after I've taken out the key... draining the battery. So they replaced that. Would that area have any wiring that would affect the windows? If so, they should fix this for free...

They likely disconnected your battery.

Have you tried re-training the windows by holding the window button down for 10-15 seconds. Then reverse the windows and holding the windows up for 10-14 seconds.

the window won't move at all with the center console switches. But I did try, holding them down for 15 seconds.. no movement.

Any ideas? :-(

If everything else works then I doubt it is the ignition switch.

I think you need to measure the voltage at the switches to see if power is there.
