Window Setting

Hi,

I remember reading about how you can set the electric window height. I

tried to seach this topic but I cannot find it's location. Could anyone

point me to this instruction?

Also, is a Mercedes window setting the same?

As far as i know, in the 996 and 986 the windows are not electronically height adjustable. Usually the windows will set there height by rolling up as high as they can go and when you open your door, the window will roll down a preset distance. Something like 1/2 to 3/4 of and inch, If its not lowering quick enough for you, you'r likely opening the door too fast for the window to retract and catches momentaraly on the trim.

Hi,

The window is working fine but the Mercedes window is to high into the rubber. I

need it to drop about 1/32 to 1/16 of a inch and stay at that setting. I have seen talk

of window settings but I can not remember how to do it.

On 9x6 series the adjustments are all Torx screws inside the door panel.

If Benz uses the same window control CPUs as Audi, BMW & Porsche, try this:

You re-set the window "top" by raising the window (all the way) manually, releasing the window button momentarily, then hitting raise window again and holding it for a few seconds. Lower the window, then place a piece of cardboard or similar slim obstacle in between the window and the rubber gasket and try to reset your window at a slightly lower height.
