Have a 2000 cab and had some paint shop/ding repair done. The center console was removed and repainted with some body panel dings removed..my question is that when I picked the car up the odometer was blank for about 10 minutes of driving....all of a sudden it lit up after being blank.

Any info would be appreciated...don't want to assume the worst, like the odometer was disconnected for some joy riding.

thanks...

Not sure you should worry, i disconnected mine once to remove the gauges for painting the rings and when i reinstalled the lights didnt light until 5 minutes down the road.... all seems fine 7 months later.

that's the problem....I didn't remove the odometer and neither should the shop have done it as well...I guess what you're saying is that it WAS disconnected at the shop even though there was no need to remove it.

Just for clairification.....if you disconnect the odometer, it is blank for a certain amount of time after you reconnect it?

thanks,
