944S Head

Recommended Posts

I was curious if you could point me in the right direction for a new cylinder head for 16v 87 944S. Also looking for 2 Cams, timing chain, tensioner, and gaskets, looking for the cheapest route possible.

The head broke where the chain tensioner bolts onto the head. I beleive the tensioner wore out and the chain caught it and ripped the chunk off the head from the round hole where the sparkplug goes in and the tensioner is bolted down to. Also broke teeth off one of the cams and the other one might have a broken tooth. I'm desperate for the cheapest route possible. I'm going to have someone look at the head and see if it's weld-able but I'm afraid there will be to much pressure for even a good weld to hold up for long. I'd appreciate your expert advice on the situation. Later this week i'll try and get some pictures posted of the damage.

Thanks much

Dustin
