My dash lights are staying on (RPM, Speed etc) and it is draining my battery is there a timer in the dash cluster that turns them off? Or what triggers them to turn OFF?

Have a feeling you are right. Wonder if can be repaired?

Maybe that a specialist in electronics can help you, i replaced the cluster, it was still a warranty issue. It is not a daily fault but rather rare.

I seem to remember reading that a faulty ignition switch could cause the cluster to stay on. Hopefully someone with more onfo can chime in. I'll do some searching and see if I can find that article.

It helps if you give the year and model of your car.  Anyway, my 99 C2 dash lights do not come on unless I turn on the headlights.  So I'm wondering if maybe the light switch is bad.  Have you tried turning on and off the headlights?
