Car will not start. (1999 986 tip)

When I insert the key into the ignition the beep that usually comes on is much faster, and when I try to start the car, it clicks fastly and the lights in the dash flash, but the starter doesnt run - and thats about all that happens...

I did take the key head apart to work on the console lock cylinder recently- and the car would start before that.

Is this what happens when the crystal in the key is removed or disabled???

Battery in the remote or in the car?

Both are fairly new - the remote still opens the car doors, and the battery in the started the car the day before yesterday with no hesitation...

I think im gonna check the ignition switch in the morning - I may have knocked something loose.

The car - it sounds like a bad battery. You might want to have it tested.

2nd would be the ignition switch - sometimes wiggling it makes a difference. If you can wiggle it and make it work you need a new ignition switch.
