It's certainly different...but I'd have to see that thing in person to see how it really works. Until then, I'd reserve comment and stick with the time tested and true set of jack stands I have sitting in the garage. A lot of the Sears tools and jacks are coming out of China...which in itself isn't an indictment of the product....but we've all seen in the news lately how Quality control seems to be a foreign concept (no pun intended) to the Chinese manufacturing processes whether it's the steel or ingredients for dog food.

Agree with Chuck, my last Sears jack lasted 10 months before leaking. By the time I got around to checking warranty it was past the 12 month period and I was SOL.

My previous Sears jack lasted 10 years, made in the US and I had it since 1995. I have a Costco job now, inexpensive and works like a charm.

But I am intrigued by the design, if it does work, would solve the potential problem of lifting the rear of the car via the engine. Which can cause failure of the engine mounts.

If I understand it right, the jack stands are incorporated into the jack, and the jack actually lifts the stand extension. Then you can lock the jack stand in place, remove the jack, and move to the next corner. Not a bad idea, wish I had thought of it.

My thoughts exactly.

Hm-m-m-m. Yet, we're still surprised on occasion.....

It is a pretty cool idea. I love the idea of lifting and jacking into place. Genius, Jerry, Genius!
