Picked Up New Cayenne S With Issues

I picked up my new Cayenne S last night from the SE Michigan dealership. Unfortunately it already needs to go back to have several items addressed. I was wondering if others experienced the same issues.

Please let me know if you have had similar issues.

1). Headlamp condensation

2). Scuffs on front bumper cover

3). Right front foglamp bulb inoperable

4). Tailgate warning lamp (sensitive switch?)

5). Front end vibration, felt through steering wheel and seat back (tire related?)

6). NVH Boom (may also be tire related)

7.) Axle Moan 50-60 mph in float/coast, and 60+ under acceleration

Thanks for your feedback. I'm sure the dealership will take care of these issues, it's just alittle annoying that they need to be addressed post delivery.

I made the mistake of purchasing without test driving this exact vehicle.

The dealership should replace the desiccant, within the headlamp assembly. It will resolve that problem.

What is NVH Boom?

NVH Boom, refers to Noise Vibration and Harshness. Boom is a low frequency noise generated by the driveline and amplified through the cabin (interior of the vehicle). Boom can be caused by tires through unequal force vectors in the balance of the wheels. Sometimes it can be resolved by rebalancing or swapping tire location. If it is propshaft related, it is difficult to solve. The first step is to rebalance the propshaft, or replace.

The dealership called today, I should have my Cayenne back on Monday. They have rotated and balance the tires, fixed the other minor issues. They indicated there was a update kit for the headlamp condensation, and replaced the tailgate switch. The rear propshaft will be replaced on Monday.

I'll let you know how it turns out!

Well, it took eight days (mostly for the propshaft shipping). I picked up the CS this evening around the time the garage closes. Before I left, I realized it will be back at the dealership on Monday.

Here's how I faired.

1). Headlamp condensation (still has, seems fairly typical...likely no fix)

2). Scuffs on front bumper cover (Must have missed, will address Monday)

3). Right front foglamp bulb inoperable (Fixed!!!)

4). Tailgate warning lamp (sensitive switch?) (said changed, still has issue)

5). Front end vibration, felt through steering wheel and seat back (moved from 60mph + to 70mph +.....will need additional work)

6). NVH Boom (may also be tire related) (will have to evaluate tomorrow...traffic too congested)

7.) Axle Moan 50-60 mph in float/coast, and 60+ under acceleration (Still has, service manager says it's fixed...will address Monday)

The headlight condensation should resolve itself in the next day or two. Most likely they replaced the moisture absorbing pack in your headlight assembly. It should absorb the remaining moisture in a day or two.
