996 mufflers

I have a 2000 C4 Cab with Tiptronic and I am selling my stock mufflers. I have a person interested, however, there is some concern over whether the exhaust is interchangeable. He has a 1999 C2 6-speed. The dealer is telling him my mufflers are only for a Tiptronic. Is this true or would it work on his C2 6-speed? Thanks for your help.

You can put 3.4 mufflers on any 3.4 liter car. You can also put 3.6 mufflers on any 3.4 liter car.

You can NOT put 3.4 mufflers on a 3.6 liter car.

Why it´s not possible to put the 3.4 mufflers on a 3.6 liter car? What´s the difference?
