Bumper vent/grille part number

Hopefully someone here can help on this. I'm looking to get a new front bumper grille for my 2002 Boxster S. The part number from the one that is broken is 986.505.553.00.

Does anyone know, are the grilles for the 2.7 and 3.2 models the same with the only difference being that the 3.2 one comes painted silver? Does the part number above definitely come from a 3.2 one?

If they are both the same I'll spray it myself and save the £70 odd difference. I don't want to end up with different ones on each side though or one that won't fit :)

The satin black bumper grilles are:

986.505.553.01.01C Left grille frame

986.505.554.01.01C Right grille frame

The titanium metallic grilles are:

986.505.553.02.9A4 Left grille frame

986.505.554.02.9A4 Right grille frame

Thanks for the reply Loren. The part number from the damaged one I have ends in "00" so still not sure which it is.

When you say "titanium metallic", are they actually metal or black then sprayed silver? The one I have is clearly black as standard and has had a coat of silver spray paint.

That must be the molding number because that part number does not come up in my parts list - the .01 does.

The last number in the (extended) part number is always the paint code or color code.
