Hi all,

I'm having a prob with my UK 2001 manual C4 which I hope someone can shed some light on. Whenever I set off as soon as I press the foot brake I get the ABS & PSM lights come on. Turning off the ignition & then restarting clears these, but when I touch the brake again - on they come.

I bought a Geniscan GS1000 to try and read the fault code but it comes back with "No Codes", so from reading on the forum I doubt its the MAF. Engine wise the car seems to be running fine.

what else could it be ? or have I just bought the wrong OBDII reader that can't read what the problem is ?

All help much appreciated

Cheers

Dave

A generic scanner will not read ABS or PSM fault codes they will only read DME (engine) fault codes.

This can sometimes be caused by either a bad MAF sensor or a bad brake light switch -- both should be checked.

i've read up on things to check regarding the MAF, but what is involved in checking the brake light switch ?
