Hello all,

As always, I did a search before I posted a new topic. I have with the PCM/CD Changer/Nav. Have any of you thought about or replaced the stock CD Changer with a MP3 CD changer? I realize iPod is the best way to go, but since I already have a CD Changer I thought why not just burn the MP3's onto a disk and then put 6 disks in and be set. Surely there is a CD Changer that plays MP3's that works with the PCM head unit?

Thank you,

I installed an Alpine MP3 capable CD Changer (Model CHA-S634) in my E46 BMW 323i via an interface adaptor and cable. Works a treat but the BMW Headunit is made by Alpine so compability wasn't a major issue.

Have also searched for an equivalent solution for the Boxster (CR220 head unit) but have not been able to find anything. The accepted solution appears to be to interface an Ipod via the CD changer interface on the Head unit (via an adapter available from various suppliers including Becker - some of which include a switch so that you can switch between the Ipod and a CD-3 CD changer if you have one. You can't control the Ipod from the headunit though as far as I can recall (by which I mean skip tracks, display the track which is playing etc.)

Do a search on here and Box.net - lots of posts on this subject.
