Exactly 66666 miles on my MY00 996 C2 Cab on its 8th RMS. Change the oil every 5000 miles. Still runs like a baby.

1999 996 Cab C2 Tip. Acquired around 45k miles. 89k miles now after a bit over two years if I recall correctly. No problems so far. If engine pops, I'll put a new or newer one and keep going. Want to keep until 150k or so, for saying a number.

Same concern here. I Just love this car full leather full CF, Violet Metallic, Champion tuned suspension+ wheels, full GT3 Aero kit, and well would like to consider all options before I drop $20k into a replacement and a SC. Bimmers are nice, had an 02 M5 loved it, just a little to big for my sporty taste.

:offtopic: I stoppped by the BMW dealer today to return the big bow borrowed to surprise the wife. I took a seat in the new Z4 Coupe - much smaller than an M5! The local paper's auto writer called it the "Cayman killer" at $20K less and 255 HP. I can't believe I can buy a brand new 2007 Z4 for the same price I paid for my 99 C2 three years ago. Humm....

Someone dropped him on his head as a child

Gang,

I have 111,000 on my black baby, drive it to work almost all year long. I have been told it is better to drive these cars aggressively and often. Also change your oil 3-5000 with fresh Mobil 1 0-W40.

Purchased it with 53K in 2004.

My last post on this thread was in July of 07 and I was sitting at 93k with my 99 c2. Now I'm up to 140k and still no major issues. just for kicks I put the car on a dyno last week. I had 244hp at the rear wheels. Not great but I'll take it at 140k. I can't wait to see how this poor sucker gives up its ghost. :)

kaploey at 106k. Coolant leaking into engine. Possibly worm head gaskets/crack head, but not worth the repair costs on a flawed engine to begin with. Heres to a new engine and stocking shelves at the supermarket during graveyard shifts to make do! Does anyone think PCNA would contribute some to a new engine?

83k miles on a 2003 c4s. It's truly my one and only daily driver and so far the only issues have been catalytic converters. I'm on my 3rd set, all covered under warranty.

Also RMS failure when the car was in the 25k mile range but otherwise I have no issues with the car.

94k, all original, daily driver, no issues at all, no leaks, nothing, burns on oil, no smoke, runs like a hose, as my old Texas buddy would say. Seriously considering changing the water pump. Any input on that?

2002 C4S, daily driver. 77,500 miles. Rear main seal and intermediate shaft seal replaced, catalytic converters replaced.

You are lucky to get 90K+ miles without a waterpump replacement - mine went at 62K. My mechanic commented that 60K was typical life of the original pump on a 99 C2 and also said the pump has been re-designed with stronger bearings.

It's your call - mine went quite quickly on the way to work - lots of steam at the stoplight. I was lucky enough to drive the car straight to the shop without damaging anything. You wouldn't want to be caught out on the highway when it goes... Good luck.

Just lost the water pump on my 99 C2 at 107,500 miles. Thankfully it gave out in a parking lot a mile from my house, not on the freeway somewhere.

If I were you, I'd definitely swap the water pump.

2000 C2. 83K miles and ticking. No RMS and does not burn any oil. Have a slight leak on the driver side but not enough to refill in between oil changes.

Neither of those have the M96. But maybe that was the point of your comment...
