Hello all,

just joined the forum, what a great source of information.

I bought a 2003 Boxster last week and I love this car.

There was no code card with the radio, could somebody help me with the code?

Model CDR 23 Model Number BE6612

Serial Number 25020179

Thanks!

Another question, would a regular Becker Traffic Pro fit as a plug and play or are there

problems to expect with the BUS System.

I have no BOSE sytem, but I do have an amp in the front trunk.

:welcome:

CDR-23 does not need a code - it communicates with the DME to get permission to operate.

First, it maybe tough to find a Becker Traffic Pro.

If you use it on your car it will not use the MOST system - it would need to be hardwired.

Thanks a lot, Loren  !

So to hardwire means that none of the existing plugs can be used?

You will have to look at the back of your CDR-23 - there should be "wired" plugs. What you can not use is the MOST fiber optic connector.

Trying to use a non CDR23 radio in a 2003-2004 is a pain due to MOST. The CDR23 communicates to the amp (and cd changer if you have that) via fiber optics. The CDR23 does not have a conventional 12 volts from the ignition when it is turned on.

KarlS put in traffic pro but he has a GT3 that does not have the amp, and he ran into problems. But I think he finally got it to work.

So if you want to use the traffic pro we use for 1997-2002 in a 2003-2004 then you will run into problems and it is not plug and play.
